Symbols - What does heaven look like
Sunbeam
Sunbeams or rays of light are an alternative to stairs and ladders. Occasionally the symbolism can get muddied a little and the sunbeam takes on the symbolism of smoke or steam, but the symbolism here is not correct, as the meaning is that it is a path to the Sun. Exactly the same meaning, and with the same associations with spiritual ascent. Although the person may ‘climb’ the beam, alternative forms of ascent could be with wings, occasionally the person perceived themselves as transformed into a bird for this purpose.
