Symbols - What does heaven look like
Double axe
The double axe shares its symbolism with the Axe. But the axe with two unequal blades is yet another symbol representing the twin tunnels - the tunnel to the Sun and the tunnel to the Moon, one leading to reincarnation [Moon] and the other to no reincarnation [Sun]. The larger blade of the axe is the Sun tunnel symbolically.
The shaft of the axe represents the spine. There may be a thyrsus like symbol on the top of the shaft symbolically representing the opening of the crown chakra.
Where the blades are equal in size, the symbolism is similar in concept, but different in interpretation, as the two equal size blades are then like wings. The next step symbolically is to use the symbolism in the caduceus.
