Background
A description of the experience
Described in Experiments in mental suggestion – Professor L L Vasiliev
At the Third Congress of Psychical Research in 1927 Warcollier reported experiments in which he participated, between New York and Paris in both directions, i.e. at distances of about 6,000 km. In some instances the transmitted tasks referred to a previously selected type of object, for example a page of a book, diagram or picture, a drawing of some object, etc. In other cases the object transmitted was not previously thought of, for example the visual image of an acrobat walking on a horizontal bar which came into the sender’s mind
15 experiments in thought transmission from New York to Paris were carried out. There was coincidence in 5 cases (31 1/3 per cent); 20 experiments were carried out in the opposite direction, 5 coincidences being obtained (25 per cent). Warcollier regards the results obtained as definitely successful experiments in telepathy at great distances.
