Experiments in mental suggestion – Professor L L Vasiliev
In the first place, we must conclude that a preliminary selection of sensitive subjects is requisite in experiments for investigating the psychophysical nature of telepathic phenomena. This is necessary in order to obtain sufficiently reliable results.
Secondly, we note that the "hypnogenic" method worked out by us, with self-observation by the subject, coupled with objective registration of his or her responses, is a perfectly suitable method for use in further experiments because the results obtained by this method are clear and repeatable.
Thirdly, we come to the conclusion that it is not necessary for the sender to know either the location or the nature of the surroundings of the percipient. On the other hand, he has to know the subject by sight and must clearly visualise his visual image in order to effect telepathic transmission.
In the fourth instance, it must apparently be accepted that the length of the distance between sender and percipient plays no appreciable part. This does not mean, however, that the inverse square law does not apply to such cases.
Fifth, we note that so far no one has succeeded in discovering any physical indicator or radiation produced by the brain which transmits the telepatheme. Cazzamalli's claims and experimental recordings of radio brainwaves were not confirmed in our work.
Finally and sixth we find, contrary to some data to be found in the literature, that screening of the sender from the percipient by means of metal does not prevent the occurrence of telepathic phenomena.
