A description of the experience
The beginnings of Seership – Vincent Turvey
DEAR MR. TURVEY,
I am quite willing to attest the accuracy of the following- On March 22, 1905, I called to have tea with your wife, and you joined us. This was the first time I had spoken to you. Whilst having tea you asked me- "Are, or were, any of your relations in the Army?"
Without thinking I replied, “No!" and after a pause added, "Oh! yes, my first husband was a soldier"
"Oh!” you replied, "I thought so, because I see a soldier behind your chair."
A few minutes afterwards you said, “When your husband was thinking did he walk up and down like this?" Here you imitated his action correctly.
"Oh! yes, he did," I said. We then went out on the verandah, and whilst sitting there talking you described a female spirit to me, and added- "She used to live in the country" From your description I recognized an aunt of mine who used to live in the country.
A little while later you said to me, “Have you ever suffered from an illness that caused you pain here?" -laying your hand on your side. I said, "Yes! and you have correctly described the pain and symptoms from which I had suffered."
Yours truly,
H. BENNETT.
