The beginnings of Seership – Vincent Turvey
(No. 52)
Boscombe,
April 24, 190,
DEAR MR. TURVEY,
I was much impressed by the demonstration of 'Phone Clairvoyance you gave me yesterday. You certainly gave a good description of my private office, which you have never entered in your physical body.
You stated you saw me then "sitting in front of a flat brown thing, which might be a sheet of brown paper-it was large and flat"
At the moment I was seated at my writing- table, a dark brown wood three feet six inches by two feet three inches. You then proceeded to say on my right you saw what might be a picture frame, but you could see no picture size about three feet square.
As a matter of fact, on my right there is an old-fashioned window two feet nine inches square.
Then you asked, “What is that black thing at the back of your table, about two feet long and an inch thick? I don't think it is a ruler, but it might be from its size”
Now this is most remarkable. My writing-table did not fit closely to the wall, and at times pens fell behind it. I therefore put an “odd man” on the premises to fill in the cavity, which caused me some inconvenience. This was done very effectually, but not neatly and at the back of my writing- table may be easily seen a projection of black wood about an inch broad one way, two inches another (if looking down at it), and upon measuring the wood I find it is about thirty and a half inches in length.
Your house being distant from my office about two miles, I think we may forgive the inches, the other is so accurate in detail. It gives me much pleasure to testify to this.
Yours faithfully
FLORENCE LANEY.
