Type of Spiritual Experience
Background
Mind reading again would account for this - the ability to read his perceptions. At least Mrs Elliott simply says ‘your spirit’, and this could of course be his own Higher spirit from whom she is getting information.
A description of the experience
Case Studies Bearing Upon Survival – John F Thomas
‘The Wrong Way’
For the purpose of continuing his experiments with mediums, Mr. T. spent from Tuesday, April 21, 1927, to Saturday, May 14, 1927, in London, England. He had never been there before and, in the course of his trips about the city, he twice, and twice only, found himself going one way or at the wrong place when he should have taken the opposite direction or have arrived somewhere else.
Both these little mishaps are in the records, although Mr. T. did not take them seriously enough to mention them to anybody or to write them in his daily record of incidents.
On the afternoon of April 25th, he thought he had taken an underground train for Holland Park, where he expected to meet Mrs. Hewat McKenzie, to whom he thought he had a letter with him. On hunting through his pockets he was unable to locate the letter, and he found, also, that he was traveling the wrong way. Whereupon, he got off at the next station and took the proper train. There is the following in the stenographer's report of a sitting with Mrs. Elliott, May 7, 1927:
"Your spirit here and she laughing at you because you wanted to go somewhere and you went the wrong way, and anyway you had a lot of trouble with it. Does you know?
(Yes, I know about that.)
It wasn't anything important, but she wants you to know that she was with you.
(Ask her in what kind of a place?)
Don't know. Lots of peoples there. Can't get what kind of a place. It is quite close to now, not long ago."
