Blithe spirit - The vast moving sheet

Background
Because I am so tired and ill, I often have to lie down in the afternoon and rest. I lie in a recliner in order to give my poor swollen legs a rest, put a blanket over me [I have been getting very cold recently from poor circulation] and close my eyes. I don't fall asleep, but simply let go, letting whatever happens happens. The rest is the opportunity to give my poor head a break too, because this project has worn me out mentally - all those PubMed papers and the joys of Myler's side effects of drugs or the books on A level biology and chemistry and the rigours of Kant or Plato - not everything has been a joy!
So what I practise is a sort of enforced relaxation helped by having a very poorly heart.
The interpretation came much later; at the time I had no idea what it might mean, only that it was very memorable and that it was more likely to be a vision and not an out of body - though I suppose that might be a moot point even now. Even now I'm not entirely sure the interpretation [see concepts] is right.
A description of the experience
As I lay there I seemed to see a vast sheet. The sheet was like a two dimensional version of our three dimensional universe. In effect it was the universe but almost as if I was seeing it with one eye closed.
In front of the sheet was [what I now know is chaos], 'unordered energy'. It was in the vision shown as a sort of purple viscous stuff, still and empty.
The sheets was moving forward into this chaos but the sheet was active. It was active at different rates and thus was moving forward unevenly with some bits way forward and some bits further back, so that the sheet was not flat but extraordinarily knobbly and uneven - wavy. The best way I can describe it is to say that the sheet was eating its way into the purple chaos using the energy going in to move forward. Activity was driving it forward, so every execution of the functions of which the universe was formed drive the sheet forward. As if to impress this idea of activity and movement I also heard something, like a click click click almost like a clock ticking, each execution of an activity produced a click - tick tock tick tock.
'Behind' the sheet - the excrement of its wake! - were millions upon millions of snapshots of the sheet as it had been. All continous, like the layers in a puff pastry cake, all fixed together but uneven. I suppose I could liken it to a pack of cards, but this would not convey the right impression because it would not describe the waviness and uneveness of the effect.
So way back were snapshots of the universe as it had been trillions of years ago. In the far distance was Light - glorious Light of an unfathomable kind. There was no sense that this movement was taking the universe further away from the Light. It was as if the Light was a little distant but over the top of all these sheets, so the movement of the sheets was being reviewed from a higher place.
Eventually I actually did fall asleep so the vision ended, but I wrote it down when I woke up, so as not to forget it.
