The Byrds - Fifth Dimension (1966 Mono Columbia LP)
Paul Screeton – Quicksilver heritage - "Roger McGuinn, of the Byrds, a folk-rock group, told Record Mirror (19 June 1971), referring to the group's version of Bob Dylan's song 'Mr Tambourine Man':
To me the 'Tambourine Man' it was Allah. The eternal life force – it was almost an Islamic concept.
'5D' was very intellectual - a metaphysical trip based on the ethereal mesh of the universe. I was aware of the ambiguity which some people might read into it about drugs but that was not my intention, nor was it my intention with '5D' or 'Mr. Spaceman'.
