Background
Dr Shafica Karagulla, born in the Lebanon but whose research took her to the USA and the UK, was a neuro-psychiatrist who spent eight years researching ordinary people who appeared to have extraordinary abilities. She started off being a skeptic as most scientists are [including me] but over time the evidence seemed overwhelming and she set up a research project to find out more. What brought her into the area was a book about Edgar Cayce, what kept her going was an open mind and an insatiable curiosity. Where she is remarkable is that she had no experiences of her own to confirm her eventual conclusions, but like all the very best scientists forgot her own life and concentrated on the observations and evidence.
In general Dr Karagulla avoided public demonstrations and paid performers on the basis that the abilities could not be verified or checked and that there was often duplicity involved. But on one occasion she decided to attend a public demonstration since, for the study she was undertaking to be ‘well-rounded’ as she put it, at least one example needed to be studied. So she went to a show in Los Angeles in which a man calling himself ‘The Answer man’ gave regular weekly demonstrations. I assume it was for money though the book does not say
In the following observation, we see an example of straightforward inter composer communication using a bridge. Each person will have handled the envelope as they placed the question in it. They may even have licked the envelope which would have provided an even better bridge. Once the bridge is there the contact can be made. Interestingly it shows that for this man the sensitivity was not just in his fingertips but his forehead – thus these are chakra points. Of course once the contact had been made any further reading of perceptions would have been made easier.
Remember that all that is happening is that the man is picking out recent perceptions that have high emotional content .
I hope you can see that there is a real danger in this if you think the man may know something beyond what you know. If you have a dreadful fear and it gets relayed back to you, you might think that fear was true - an actuality and not just a hypothetical fear.
Imagine for a moment a person who was worried about her husband's health. If this is relayed back as an actual problem with his health it could reduce her to absolute panic and grief
A description of the experience
Breakthrough to Creativity – Dr Shafica Karagulla
In the meantime the sensitive had been carefully blindfolded. The basket of envelopes was placed on a table beside him and he proceeded to pick one at random. Without unsealing the envelope and while he held it in his hand or to his forehead he stated the question that had been asked. Then he held up the envelope and asked the person whose question it was to take it, unseal it and verify for him and the audience whether or not his reading had been correct.
His reading of the question was correct every time, in spite of the fact that he was blindfolded and the question had been folded and sealed in the envelope.
He then proceeded to answer the question to the best of his ability. Some of the questions asked were about things in the future and on these it was impossible to evaluate the answers.
I observed his performance on several occasions. He was always correct in his reading of the question. He often added details about the person who had asked the question. These I was able to verify on several occasions.
From time to time I talked with the people who had asked questions and found that they had received correct answers. On one occasion a friend who had gone with me wrote down a question and sealed it in an envelope. She had asked, "What happened to my husband's three friends and their airplane?"
The sensitive read the question correctly and then he said, "Your husband is a bush pilot in Alaska. His friend was flying with his son and his son’s college mate. Their plane crashed in very rugged and mountainous country. There has been such bad weather in Alaska over that whole area that they have not been able to find it.”
This was true in every detail. Furthermore, there had been nothing in the papers here in the States about the incident. My friend had never been to a meeting of this type before and was unknown to the sensitive conducting the meeting.
[Ah yes but the person asking the question knew the answer and that was all that mattered – relaying what they knew from their perceptions]
