Background
The following description is a bit different because it describes the fact that Stockhausen deliberately composed his music to promote creativity.
The Robert Monroe Institute also sell CDs with exactly the same objective. Using Hemi-sync and ‘binaural beats’ they are able to invoke certain ‘moods’ – from the increased productivity mentioned above to states of relaxation and peace.

A description of the experience
Karlheinz Stockhausen – Text zur Musik 1970-1977
Interview 1: Gesprach mit hollandischem Kunstkreis 1973
Normally people drink coffee to become lively again. Few are wise enough and know the exact music by which one is always inwardly refreshed and dancing; a few just know that with certain pieces of Stockhausen, their ideas come ten times faster. These listeners use music therapeutically in order to make themselves more lively, become more creative, to be able to speak of connections of which they otherwise had no idea; thus they use music as the pre-eminent spiritual food
