In the conclusion to the whole work [of Athanasius Kirchner] he completes the image by expanding his metaphorical instrument from nine to ten strings, as mentioned in Psalm 33:2. Ten is the number of perfection; the number of the Tetrakys of the Pythagoreans; the number of the Sephiroth of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. The Tenth string is therefore the One from which in all these systems, the other nine hypostases emanate, or alternatively, the One in which they all seek and find their perfection
