The stranger happily uses the terminology of modern science – radioactivity, spin – and mathematics – prime numbers – but does so in an unconventional manner.
Inasmuch as he ultimately wishes to be understood but has yet to find his place in our contemporary culture, he is, like Merlin, in need of redemption …. I want to recognise Merlin, talk to him again, bring his redemption a little nearer.
