The Truth in the Light – Dr Peter Fenwick and Elizabeth Fenwick
It was about 25 or 30 years ago that I came home from the foundry with a terrible toothache. I decided I would have to go to the dentist. I had what the layman knows as ‘gas’. Immediately I was under I had the sensation of leaving my body through my head. I was travelling through space and when I looked down, although I could not see my body, I could see I was attached by a light grey rope. The next sensation I had was a noise like a tuning fork. I mentally asked the question, what was that? And it seemed that instantly I received a mental answer that I had passed through a stage of life. This happened again a few seconds later.
The third time I had the answer ‘This is the third evolution’.
The only evolution I had heard of previously was Darwin’s, but I knew it meant a third stage of life.
I was then met by a complete stranger, whom I knew was so concerned and friendly, that I went with him without hesitation. We passed a man playing wonderful music. Further on I saw someone approaching and recognised a young lady whom I had courted briefly a few years before, but I had by this time forgotten her.
My guide then took me a little further and I knew he was going to show me something. At this point he left me and I was immediately surrounded in this beautiful golden light. The peace and happiness was overwhelming, but I knew that if I stayed longer I would not return. I then thought of my wife and young child and knew I had to return. I then found myself in a dark tunnel. I could see the light at the end and knew I must get to it. I then woke from the anaesthetic and was filled with the feeling of compassion and concern for other human beings.
This feeling was alien to me, and I am afraid to say that in my world of having to take care of myself and survive it did not last long. I am 61 years old now and will never forget or deny the experience.
