Out of the Body Experiences – Celia Green
It should be noted that subjects who say that there was no transition or that they had a black-out during the transition may possibly all be attempting to describe the same experience.
There is a natural presumption that it takes time to traverse spatial distances and if a subject finds his apparent position in space instantaneously altered, he may assume that he must have traversed the intervening space, but that it was very rapid or that he was temporarily unconscious
A description of the experience
Out of the Body Experiences – Celia Green
- One night, by intense concentration, I succeeded in detaching myself from my body, and floated through the air in a kind of grey mist. I distinctly remember passing through brick walls without difficulty. Eventually I returned to my bedroom, and distinctly remember looking down at my body in bed. For some moments – which seemed an eternity, I was unable to return to my body, but at long last, something clicked, and I woke up
-
The act of being reunited with my body I cannot recall – it just seemed to happen
-
Suddenly I seemed to be 50 to 100 foot above my body... suddenly I was back in myself. Going out and coming back was like the flick of a switch
-
When I leave my body, there is a black out until I find myself somewhere – and when returning to the body there is again a black-out until I find myself back and in a normal condition
-
I made a terrific effort to drag myself back to my body
-
I needed a gigantic effort of will to get back
-
I thought 'I can't go on like this I've got to get my mind back into my body somehow. Anyhow I sat down and kind of willed my mind back into my body. I can't really explain it except that I concentrated very hard
