Background
Mrs Frank helped Frank with this poem based on the following extract
“Evolutionary psychologists have dismissed Freudian as well as Oedipal and Jungian theories in favour of survival skills based attraction. We see as attractive, and therefore choose as lovers, people who look healthy. A woman with a 70% waist to hip ratio – which is important for the birth of the baby and can indicate higher fertility, is attractive to men. Conversely men with rugged features that suggest a strong supply of testosterone in their blood are attractive to women because it also indicates a strong immune system and therefore healthy children”
I think it may be different in Yorkshire.
A description of the experience
At 55 nearly 56, some things don’t look the same
I’ve droopy boobs and sagging chin and awful varicose veins
My face is lined, my hair is grey (though dyeing has given it bounce)
But I open my legs when you ask me to, and that’s what really counts
At 55 nearly 56, my eyes are weak and grey
I need three pairs of glasses to see close to and far away
I squint when they are taken off, it’s such a cruel cut
But I open my legs when you ask me to, and do it with eyes shut
At 55 nearly 56, my waist is nearly gone
I’ve lost some weight but I’m still too big and I probably weigh a ton!
My stomach’s hanging to the floor, my bottom eclipses the sun
But I open my legs when you ask me to, and you can still make me come
I’ve forgotten how old you really are and you’ve forgotten too
One day you say you’re 63, next day it’s 62
Our memories keep playing tricks, but you can produce good rhymes
And we make love at the drop of a hat and sometimes come three times
You say you need to lose some weight, then have a beer or two
And I in turn drink lots of wine – lose weight – some chance we two!
But your thighs are firm, your willy is stiff, your legs can cling on tight
And I know who I want beside me when I go to bed each night
