Life at Death – Dr Kenneth Ring
The first thing I remember was a tremendous rushing sound, a tremendous... It's very hard to find the right words to describe. The closest thing that I could possibly associate with it is possibly the sound of a tornado – a tremendous gushing wind, but almost pulling me. And I was being pulled into a narrow point from a wide area - like a funnel – and it was nothing painful. There was nothing frightening about it. It was just something that I felt I gave myself into completely. And it felt good.
Then suddenly, I saw my mother, who had died about nine years ago. And she was sitting – she always used to sit in her rocker, you know – she was smiling and she just sat there looking at me and she said to me in Hungarian [the language her mother used when alive] 'Well, we've been waiting for you. We've been expecting you. Your father's here and we're going to help you'.
And all I felt was a tremendous kind of happiness, of pleasure, of comfort. And then somehow she took me by the hand and she took me somewhere and all I could see was marble all around me; it was marble. It looked like marble; but it was very beautiful. And I could hear beautiful music; I can't tell you what kind, because I never heard anything like it before... it sounds – I could describe it as a combination of vibrations, many vibrations.
Interviewer: How did the music make you feel?
Oooooh so good. The whole place was just very good, very happy, very warm, very peaceful, very comforting, very – I've never known that feeling in my whole life.
Yet somehow I was never right there with my mother. She was always at a distance. And she seemed to be just smiling and saying or implying.
'Wait'.
