T C Lethbridge – ESP Beyond Time and Distance – Describing inter-composer communication
To the cat a distance of 45O yards appears to be nothing. The moth comes in to its mate over unbroken miles of heathery moor. The shearwater flies something like 3,000 miles to its chick. Distance, has, unlike mechanical electricity and magnetism, apparently nothing to do with it all. The power of the transmission ought in theory to decrease in relation to the square of the distance. Our transmissions apparently do not conform to this law. But why should the laws which man has worked out for his mechanical products conform to the rules set by nature? We are probably trying to study an attribute of life itself.
