Background
A description of the experience
I learned about tree hugging from native American Indians. They did it to re-store their energy when running great distances.
Walk up to a large tree, and wrap your arms backwards around it. Then, look up in to the branches and you can feel a surge of energy entering your body. I have done it a number of times, and it seems to be effective.
Another thing you can do is merge your conscious awareness with that of the tree. Then, you can look out from the top of the tree and view the surrounding area. I've done that. Its fun. American Indian mothers used to do that to keep an eye on their children. Of course, the experience is completely subjective : )
