Background

A description of the experience

Croiset the Clairvoyant - Jack Harrison Pollack

On a summer day in 1955, the teenage, motherless daughter of Mr. P., a hard-working stovemaker in the town of Almelo, visited the clairvoyant in nearby Enschede. She brought him her father's penknife as an inductor.

Croiset fingered it and then inquired, "Has your father been treated by a doctor lately for his stomach pains?"

"Yes," the girl answered.

"Well, tell his employer to come see me tomorrow," suggested the paragnost.

The employer came the following afternoon, and Croiset said to him, "I see a cancer in his left lung after holding his pocketknife. Please tell this to some medical specialist and have him examine the man further."

Mr. D.'s employer immediately relayed this information to Dr. E.deJ. in Almelo who arranged for an extensive series of tests. These confirmed the accuracy of the paragnost's vision. Mr. D. had been a chain smoker for years.

How did Croiset have this perception?

"I did not see the cancer inside the lung with all the tissues drenched in blood," he explains. "No, I saw it as a sort of wax figure which was reproduced by means of colour slides.  I always see such things in a form which will not upset my feelings, so that the danger of an unclear vision is lessened."
