New poems – Gerald Bullett 1949
The water sparkles as I pour
Each drop a crystal gem
Each several drop a gleaming world
Lost in the clear containing glass
Or in the basin lying sleek and still
What richness! – when a man may slake
His sleepy thirst with precious gems
And among shining planets plunge his hands
