Type of Spiritual Experience
Background
An allegorical reference to the fact that if you are open to spiritual experience you get wisdom, but if you rely on intellect alone you can head off to ignorance - Enoch calls it unrighteosness, but not being 'right' is ignorance.
Note that this has been interpreted by those who are control freaks and want to impose their own ideas of morality as meaning immoral, but it does not have this meaning, it means what it says - not being right - not being correct in our understanding of the spiritual world
A description of the experience
The Book of Enoch – 42 The dwelling places of Wisdom and of Unrighteousness
Wisdom found no place where she might dwell
Then a dwelling place was assigned to her in the heavens
Wisdom went forth to make her dwelling among the children of men
And found no dwelling place
Wisdom returned to her place
And took her seat among the angels
And unrighteousness went forth from her chambers
Whom she sought not she found
And dwelt with them
As rain in a desert
And dew on a thirsty land
