Human Levitation – Preston Dennett; also in Thurston and Attwater – Butler’s Lives of the Saints volume 2
There are several reports of Ladislaw levitating whilst in prayer, but his most dramatic levitation occurred on April 4th 1505, as he preached the Passion. In the middle of the sermon, he became insensible and fell into an ecstatic trance.
The congregation watched in amazement as his body rose above his chair and remained suspended in the air, hanging with his arms outstretched as if crucified. After a few moments, he sunk back into the chair and awoke, totally exhausted. He died exactly one month later.
