Background
A description of the experience
We were gathered, not at the Psychological Institute, but at the home of a family friend.
I was giving a short audition, to Mr. Georges Claretie, son of the late administrator of our French Theatre and his friend Mr. V... 1st concertmaster of one of the great stages of Paris.
After a few pieces performed, another one began, when the latter was interrupted, sharply, and suddenly. After a rather long silence, the demonstration resumed, but in a completely different style.
Very surprised by this sudden interruption, my father asked, after the séance, if we could know the name of the musician who had left us so extraordinarily.
Perfectly, replied the present spirit, then it was Chopin.
Do you know what Mr. V... told us? That what he had just seen was not Péton, because he didn't understand much of the author's music!
Thus, very clearly, Chopin's presence among us had been certain, since when he saw this kind of indifference from Mr. V..., he did not want to insist and he left.
