A description of the experience
To conclude, I have to mention a case of table lifting, which is absolutely complete. It is the only one, but I cannot ignore it.
We were gathered, a dozen people, at Mademoiselle D..., headmistress of the school, and took a white wooden kitchen table which certainly weighed fifty kilos as furniture for experiments.
Its dimensions were about two metres long by one metre wide. The four feet, square, massive, had a cross-section of not less than ten centimetres to the side. Finally, the tabletop was made of ten centimetre thick boards.
Well, this heavy, massive piece of furniture, in front of the people present, lifted completely off the ground, to a height of about forty centimetres!
